Last night straight from work we rushed over to Oxford to watch MacBeth in the grounds of Oxford Castle, it was a hectic evening with timings not allowing any mess up ( so I was crossing everything for no train issues ). We got there, found a little Italian to feed us before the showing and made it to the show about 20 seconds late.
To watch a Shakespeare play actually outside amongst trees etc was quite a thing ( although a tad chilly by the end even with the help of the blankets they had for hire ).
The play was brilliant, really enjoyed it, I just couldn't get why they had 9 witches - every one knows it's 3 witches. They even managed to cover the equal opportunities act by having 3 male witches 1 of which was disabled.
I must admit MacBeth isn't my favourite of the Shakespeare plays, I have faint memories of seeing a comedy version play as a teenager. One of my favourites is a Midsomer Nights Dream and I'm still kicking myself that we didn't get organised enough to see that in the grounds, now that would have been really good to see outside!
